Review:
We LOVED the animals!! We found this to be a sweet, fluffy (literally) romance. We have to say, Shannon had a few issues but we definitely liked Luke. The secondary characters were great and ensure we will be checking out the next books in the series. We gave this book a 7.8 out of 10 rating.

The Naked Truth

Lady Vivian Worth knows perfectly well how to behave like a lady. But observing proper manners when there’s no one around to impress is just silly. Everything her brother has promised the man. But until then, she’s going to enjoy her freedom…

A Revealing Discovery

Luke Forest, the newly named Duke of Foxhaven, wants nothing to do with his inheritance—or the bride that comes with it. He wants adventure and excitement, like the enchanting water nymph he’s just stumbled across. When he discovers the skinny-dipping minx is his intended, he reconsiders his plan to find Lady Vivian another husband. Because the idea of this vivacious woman in the arms of another man might be enough to drive him insane – or to the alter.

Review:
Even though this is book 4 in the Beau Monde series, we had no problems reading this book on it’s own. What we loved…the humor! It was fun watching Luke fall in love with Vivian; the two had great interactions. This book did have a very contemporary feel. We are definitely checking out the other titles in the series. We rated this book a 8.2 out of 10.

Now, locked out of the Tower’s innermost chambers, Kerric Vo Mos must brave the deadly traps keeping trespassers at bay in order to reclaim control.

Unfortunately, Kerric wields a pen far better than a sword, and the way into the Tower’s sanctum is treacherous. Only the help of an experienced player like Myal the Mendhite can get him to where he must go. But mutual respect will not be enough. Passion must also be employed, along with armor and weapons, as they embark on a perilous quest past monsters, riddles, and other dangers that even the Tower’s most dedicated viewers have never seen before.

Review:
The majority of the book involves the hero and heroine battling through rooms to regain control of The Tower. This is a completely different world and there isn’t much background provided for how the world structured. However, that works with the story as the action is almost exclusively within The Tower. This is the same world as Jean Johnson’s previous series, The Sons of Destiny. The first chapter seems to connect the two; but after that, the book was focused on the story at hand. Looking forward to The Grove (second in this series). It was a refreshing change to see the switch with having the woman being the tall, strong warrior. The hero, Kerric, isn’t exactly weak either and did his share of kicking butt with his magic. We gave this an 8 out of 10 rating.

Review:
Let’s start by saying the back cover is a little misleading about the book. The basics are correct, but Shane and Daisy are never in conflict about Drew. Their conflict is based on what happened in the prequel novella. Even with that, you do not need to read the prequel to enjoy this book. This is a spin off from the Firefighters of Station Five novel and we have to admit we had really high expectations for Shane’s story. The suspense didn’t really take off until the end. The majority of the story was focused on the relationship between Shane and Drew or Shane and Daisy. We loved that we got to catch up with some of our favorite firefighters as well. We rated this book a 7.4 out of 10 rating.

Review:
We don’t usually select hardcover releases for our book reads…but this is Nora Roberts, so we made an exception.  And it was worth it!  We had picked this one for our Romantic Suspense read and there really wasn’t any suspense in the story, but we were okay with that.  The girls characterized the female lead as ‘perfect’ and ‘well-adjusted’.  While the hero seemed a little weak, he and the heroine provided good counter-points.  The setting of this story was fantastic.   We gave this one an 8.6 out of 10 rating.

Review:
Rising Darkness is the first book in a new series for Thea Harrison.   As we had read her Elder Races series and enjoyed it, we had to try this one.  This book was definitely more urban fantasy than paranormal romance.  The start of the book seemed a little choppy and slow.  A few chapters in though and the story hit its stride.  We enjoyed the world built for this series and are adding book 2 to our must read list.  There were a lot of things left unresolved from this book, and we hope that will clear up a little with the next title.  We gave the book 5.6 out of 10.

Review:
What Happens in Scotland is a debut novel.  This story takes place over a very short period of time.  This was a little hard for some of the girls to move past, particularly as it is mentioned multiple times through the story.  The characters were quirky and some of girls liked this, while others thought it a little overplayed.   It was agreed, however, that this story had great humor.   We are certainly going to take a look at book number two in the series.  This book received a 7 out of 10 rating.
