The Seventh Victim by Mary Burton

“The Seventh Victim” was the book chosen as our romantic suspense read for March 2013, although one of the main comments we received from the group was that it should not have been listed as a romantic suspense, but rather just suspense/thriller! There is only a very slight romance between Lara and James.  Even so, this book was the favorite of the month’s reads, with a score of 7.4 out of 10. Many of our readers are familiar with Mary Burton’s work, and while this was not their favorite of her work, they did like it. The general consensus was that this was a good book, but it slightly missed the mark, with too much unnecessary description, and an unnecessary twist at the end.  Without giving away the ending, we had higher hopes for one of the characters.
